Gamebookers sister sites in a nutshell
Gamebookers is one of online betting’s original names, taking bets since 1998 and now run by LC International Limited, the Entain company whose single UK licence also carries Ladbrokes, Coral, bwin, Sportingbet, Party Casino and the Gala brands, twelve active sister sites in all.

Thirteen active domains sit on this licence, so Gamebookers has twelve sister sites, and the five profiled below are chosen for a sports-first player: the same sportsbook wearing its marketed face, the two brands that owned Gamebookers before Entain did, the 1886-founded giant, and the licence’s other unadvertised storefront. Gala Bingo, Foxy Bingo, Foxy Games, Coral and the rest complete the register’s roll and are covered across my Entain pages linked below.

Sportingbet
- The same thing: Identical platform to Gamebookers, down to the Build a Bet+ tool and menu order, but carrying a promotions section and a more marketed UK presence.
- Horse racing where Gamebookers leads with football: Its A-Z puts British racing up front, the clearest sign of which audience each storefront was made for.
- A fellow nineties survivor: Another veteran betting name that came through the industry’s consolidation onto this same licence.
- Shared login-side offers: Its offers page shows the same personalised-only message as Gamebookers, so the difference is marketing, not machinery.
- Best use: The Gamebookers-curious player’s first stop; the same sportsbook, presented for Britain.

bwin
- The company that once swallowed it: Gamebookers was folded into the bwin.party group in 2011; fifteen years on, absorber and absorbed sit as equals on one licence.
- The bigger European name: A 1997-founded sports giant with football sponsorship history Gamebookers never had, per its documented record.
- Sports-led with casino attached: The same product style as Gamebookers at many times the volume.
- Register-verified: Even though it’s better-known abroad, bwin is still covered by a full UK Gambling Commission licence.
- Best use: A continental-flavoured sportsbook for the player drawn to Gamebookers’ European character with a name still in lights.

partypoker
- An old housemate from the PartyGaming years: PartyGaming bought Gamebookers in 2006, making these two stablemates long before Entain existed.
- The licence’s only poker room: A product Gamebookers and every other brand on the platform leave to it entirely.
- Another faded titan: Once the world’s biggest poker site, now, like Gamebookers, a veteran name living a quieter life within a giant network.
- Expanding its repertoire: No longer purely a poker site, partypoker has added casino games recently in an attempt to extend its audience.

Ladbrokes
- The 1886 name beside the 1998 one: The licence spans a century of bookmaking history, and this is its senior partner, older than the telephone box.
- Everything Gamebookers doesn’t do: High-street shops, racing culture, headline promotions and a full UK marketing machine.
- The same paper behind both: One account number, one trust arrangement for funds, one IBAS route, covered identically.
- From the record, not a visit: Its site is another my browser’s filter holds back; my Ladbrokes review linked below carries the full detail.
- Best use: The default choice for a UK sports player who wants the family’s full-service flagship.

Gala Casino
- The licence’s other low-key resident: A games-only site that runs no new-player welcome offer, preferring small cash rewards for ordinary play.
- Opposite product, similar temperament: Casino without sport, where Gamebookers is sport with casino attached; neither especially shouts for attention.
- Standalone by design: Split out on its own when the Gala brands were rearranged in 2025.
- Cash-paying calendar: Its daily tournaments and rewards wheel pay real money rather than bonus funds with wagering obligations, unusual anywhere.
- Best use: The player who came for Gamebookers’ casino tab and doesn’t need the sportsbook at all.

What Gamebookers really is
Underneath the vintage name is a thoroughly current sportsbook: 96 sports in the A-Z when I counted, in-play betting with live match centres, a Build a Bet+ tool, and a calendar that on the day of checking led with Conference League and Europa League qualifiers rather than British racing, a football-first ordering that matches Entain’s own description of the brand as strongest in east and central Europe. The casino tab is no afterthought either: slots, live tables, Drops and Wins, daily jackpots and a Jackpot King progressive standing at £1.2 million on the day I looked.
What’s missing is any salesmanship. Logged out, the offers page consists of one sentence inviting you to log in for personalised offers, an arrangement shared with its platform sister Sportingbet, and no banner anywhere advertises a welcome offer. The difference is that Sportingbet still runs a promotions menu and markets itself to Britain; Gamebookers simply operates, a shop with a full till and no sign in the window. Entain keeps the brand for the markets that remember it, and its UK storefront comes along for the ride.

Ownership: three owners, one survivor
Gamebookers’ corporate biography is a short history of online gambling consolidation. Founded in 1998 as an independent bookmaker, it was bought by PartyGaming in 2006, carried into the bwin.party merger in 2011, and arrived in the GVC group, now Entain, with the bwin.party acquisition of 2016. Each owner was in turn swallowed by the next, and the brand outlived the independence of all of them. Today it sits as one of thirteen active domains on LC International Limited’s platform, alongside Ladbrokes, Coral, bwin, Sportingbet, PartyCasino, partypoker and the Gala and Foxy brands.
The paperwork behind it is the family standard and better than most: no regulatory actions on this licence’s record, customer funds held in trust under the operator’s UK terms, the strongest protection tier the Commission defines, and IBAS as the named independent adjudicator. The operator’s wider history includes the £17 million settlement of August 2022, documented on my LC International page; it predates this account’s current clean record. Entain’s own partner literature describes Gamebookers as offering up to 30,000 bets daily across more than 90 sports, popular in east and central Europe, the operator’s frankest admission of where this brand’s heart now lives.

Offers: personalised or nothing
There’s no promotions schedule to review, which is the key finding of this review. Logged out, the offers page carries a single sentence, “Please log in to check personalised offers.”, and nothing else: no welcome offer, no free bets, no odds boosts, no casino spins. The arrangement is the platform’s rather than the brand’s; its sister site Sportingbet shows the same logged-out page, but Sportingbet supplements it with a proper promotions menu and UK marketing, and Gamebookers does not.
For a UK player, the practical reading is simple: sign up here and whatever offers exist will be shown to you individually after registration, with nothing advertised in advance to weigh or compare. Anyone who chooses a bookmaker partly on its welcome bonus has no basis to choose this one, and I’d treat that as the brand telling you, honestly enough, who it’s for: people who want odds, not offers.
Payments: the family methods, the family trust
The cashier runs the operator’s standard UK set of cards, PayPal, device wallets and bank routes, with no crypto, and reported processing in the family’s usual range of about a day for eWallets and two to three for cards.
The stronger fact sits underneath: LC International’s UK terms place customer money in trust, the top of the Commission’s three protection tiers, and that protection attaches to this quiet brand exactly as it does to Ladbrokes. A bookmaker that doesn’t advertise, whose deposits are better protected than most of the loudly-advertised market, is the kind of inversion this licence specialises in.
Support and complaints: the standard machinery, unstaffed shopfront
Help runs through the Help & Contact menu into the operator’s help centre and chat, with no phone number or email, the same arrangement as every brand on the account. Complaints escalate internally and end, if needed, at IBAS, the group’s named independent adjudicator, free to the player.
GAMSTOP applies, and the safer gambling section holds the standard toolkit. One family structure note that bears repeating on every brand I write about on this network is that deposit limits are per brand account, but self-exclusion through the group or GAMSTOP reaches all of them at once.
Gamebookers’ reputation: a long history, and a quiet life
Gamebookers’ reputation record reads like its history: a deep archive of write-ups from its two decades as a marketed brand, and comparatively little current UK player commentary, because there is currently so little UK player acquisition. What recent commentary exists treats it as what it observably is, a functioning veteran book on a blue-chip licence, with the group-level service patterns, unhurried support included, that apply across the family.
I found no live pattern of Gamebookers-specific grievances, and with a brand this quiet the truth is that the sample is thin: the meaningful reputation here is the operator’s, which is substantial, well-documented, and carried identically by every name on the account.
What I like, and what I don’t
What I like
- A well-worked 90-sport book with in-play and a full casino, behind one of betting’s great veteran names.
- Trust-held customer funds at the high protection tier, IBAS named, and a clean register record on the licence.
- No offer small print because there are no offers; nothing to misread, wager through or forfeit.
- Twelve sister sites supply every product and promotion this brand declines to.
What I don’t
- Very little information for a prospective player to evaluate: no welcome offer, no promotions page content, no reason given to pick it over its sister sites.
- The football-first ordering and continental calendar make it a second-best fit for a racing-minded UK player.
- Chat-only support inherits the family’s unhurried service patterns without a marquee brand’s scrutiny.
- Current UK player feedback is too thin on the ground to independently corroborate my experience.
My Gamebookers verdict: a museum piece in working order
Gamebookers is what a brand looks like when a giant keeps it for sentiment and market share rather than growth: fully licensed, fully functional, properly protected, and completely unmarketed in Britain. Nothing about it is broken or suspect; the regulatory record is clean, the funds protection is the strongest tier the UK framework offers, and the sportsbook underneath is the same modern machinery Entain runs everywhere. It’s simply a shop that stopped putting posters up, in a country that was never its best market, and the operator’s own literature as good as says so.
Recommending it to a UK player is therefore an exercise in honesty about what you’d be choosing: the odds and the heritage, without a single bonus offer to sweeten the deal. Most players will be better served one brand along, at Sportingbet for the identical sportsbook with its lights on, or at Ladbrokes for the full British service. But if the idea of betting with the last independent-born survivor of online betting’s first generation appeals on its own terms, it remains, remarkably, right there, still open, and still on the soundest paperwork in the business.
Gamebookers sister sites FAQ: your questions answered
What are Gamebookers’ sister sites?
Twelve active brands on LC International Limited’s licence: Ladbrokes, Coral, bwin, Sportingbet, PartyCasino, partypoker, Gala Bingo (incorporating Gala Spins), Gala Casino, Foxy Bingo, Foxy Games and the account’s sports platform, spanning betting, casino, bingo and poker.
Who owns Gamebookers?
LC International Limited, a Gibraltar company within Entain plc, as the site’s footer states. The brand reached Entain the long way: founded independently in 1998, bought by PartyGaming in 2006, merged into bwin.party in 2011, and acquired with that group by GVC, now Entain, in 2016.
Is Gamebookers legit and safe for UK players?
Yes. It runs on UKGC account 54743 with no regulatory actions recorded against the account, customer funds are held in a formal trust at the high protection tier, GAMSTOP applies, and IBAS is the named independent dispute route.
Does Gamebookers have a welcome offer?
No. Logged out, its offers page shows only “Please login to check personalised offers”, with no sign-up offer or promotions published, an arrangement its platform sister Sportingbet shares, though Sportingbet also runs general promotions. Whatever offers exist here are shown individually after registration.
Is Gamebookers the same as bwin?
They’re sister sites, not the same site. Gamebookers was folded into the bwin.party group in 2011 and both brands now run on the same Entain licence and platform family, but they keep separate sites, accounts and identities.
