The Stake Casino sister sites in a nutshell

Stake is a crypto-led casino and sportsbook run by Medium Rare N.V. under a Curaçao licence. None of its relatives are open to the UK, so these profiles cover four UK-licensed alternatives: BetUK, 888 Casino, Virgin Games and Genting Casino.

Important licensing note

Stake’s licence comes from Curaçao, not the Gambling Commission, and its terms list the United Kingdom as prohibited, so a British player would have no GAMSTOP, no UK safer-gambling rules and no UK body to complain to.

The Stake Casino sister sites

No sister site in Stake’s family will take a British customer, so these four profiles cover what draws people to Stake in the first place: sports betting, poker, and a very large casino.

stake sister sites banner
betuk logo

BetUK

  • Relationship: BetUK has no connection to Stake. It’s a UK-licensed alternative from LeoVegas Gaming PLC, Gambling Commission account 39198, with no regulatory actions on record.
  • An actual welcome offer: Stake doesn’t offer one. BetUK gives new sports customers four £10 free bets for a £10 bet, two of them for football accumulators of four legs or more.
  • Spins at 1x: Casino newcomers who opt in, deposit £10 and wager it once get 50 free spins at 10p on Big Bass Splash.
  • The closest match: Sports, casino and live casino are all on the menu, the nearest match to Stake’s sportsbook-plus-casino layout.
  • Jackpots up front: The homepage shows running totals for its Mega and Major jackpots.
  • Best for: Sports bettors who want Stake’s mix of betting and slots, backed by a Gambling Commission licence.
888 casino logo

888 Casino

  • Relationship: Not a sister site of Stake but a UK-licensed alternative, run by 888 UK Limited on Gambling Commission account 39028.
  • Three products, like Stake: Casino, poker, and sports betting are all available under the 888 name, the closest equivalent to Stake’s casino, sportsbook, and poker room.
  • A capped match: Deposit £10 and stake it on selected slots within 48 hours for a 100% bonus up to £100 at 10x, with winnings from it capped at £100.
  • Poker tickets: 888poker’s first-deposit bonus, code GET50, pays £50 in tournament tickets spread over six days, each lasting 24 hours.
  • A weekly top-up: 888sport gives customers a £5 free bet every week when they stake £20 on a football accumulator of three legs or more at 3/1 or higher.
  • Best for: British poker players who want casino and sport from the a long-running, UK-licensed name.
virgin games logo

Virgin Games

  • Relationship: An alternative rather than a sister site: Virgin Games is a white label on Gamesys Operations Limited’s UK licence, account 38905.
  • Rewards from £10, not £10,000: Stake’s VIP club opens only after £10,000 in wagering. Virgin Games’ weekly reward wheels start at £10 of slot play for invited members, with cash prizes from 5p to £60.
  • 100 spins to start: Play £10 on slots and get 100 free spins on Game of Thrones at 10p, valid for 30 days.
  • Casino only: There’s no sportsbook here, so it suits players who only use Stake for slots.
  • Rewards in the menu: Red Hot Rewards appear in the main menu beside the slots and casino sections, showing where the brand focuses its effort.
  • Best for: Slots players who’d rather collect small, regular rewards than chase a VIP rank.
genting casino logo

Genting Casino

  • Relationship: Outside the Stake family altogether, Genting Casino is a UK-licensed white label on Skill On Net Limited’s account 39326, which carries no regulatory actions.
  • Tables in real casinos: Its live roulette streams from Genting’s own casinos, where most of Stake’s live tables come from studio providers such as Evolution and Pragmatic Play.
  • Chips for the live tables: A first deposit of £10 earns five £0.50 Golden Chips for Playtech live tables, plus a bonus of up to £25 at 10x.
  • Bricks and mortar: The brand is tied to casinos across the UK and touts 50 years of casino experience, a very different kind of history from a crypto start-up like Stake Casino.
  • A bigger claim: Genting says it has more than 8,000 games, way above Stake’s 6,000.
  • Best for: Live roulette and blackjack players who want to know a real casino is behind the stream.

Research method
Stake turns UK players away, so I worked from the version of the site available in the markets it serves, followed its own menus, and checked each promotion and VIP claim against its terms. The family and the UK history rest on the operators’ footers and the regulators’ registers. I didn’t open an account or deposit.

A dark-blue casino with games of its own

Stake bills itself as the “World’s Largest Online Casino and Sportsbook”, in white type on a dark-blue site with live counters of how many people are playing. Its signature is the Stake Originals range, built in-house and provably fair: Dice, Mines, Plinko, Keno, Crash, Limbo, Slide and Chicken. Beside them sits an “Only on Stake” collection made by outside studios on its Stake Engine platform, including Sharks!, Waylanders Forge, Big Bass Rock And Roll and Tongue, while the trending row is led by Gates Of Olympus 2500, Gates Of Olympus Super Scatter, Sweet Bonanza 1000, Sugar Rush 1000, Le Vampire and Dork Show.

The live casino offers more than 150 titles from Evolution, Pragmatic Play Live, and Animo Studios, plus a poker room with its own jackpots. The casino page claims 6,000+ games from over 260 publishers, then says “1000+ casino games” a few paragraphs later. That’s sloppy, and so is something more serious: Stake sells an “Enhanced RTP” category while clause 10.5 of its terms reserves “the right to adjust the house edge of any slot game at our sole discretion and without prior notice”. A casino that advertises better returns on some slots and reserves the right to change any slot’s return without warning asks for more trust than its rules give back.

Who runs Stake, and how it left Britain

Unlike many offshore casinos, Stake names its operator directly. Its footer and terms name Medium Rare N.V., company 145353, at Seru Loraweg 17 B in Curaçao, with payments handled by Medium Rare Limited in Nicosia and MRS Tech Ltd in Larnaca. The Curaçao Gaming Authority’s certificate confirms licence OGL/2024/1451/0918, granted on 9 June 2025 and shown as active. The authority’s licence register is less tidy than I’d like: it gives Medium Rare N.V. a different company number, 161385, and lists the current licence period as ended on 6 June 2026 with renewal “Assessment in progress”.

Britain is a different story. Stake’s UK site, stake.uk.com, was a white label run by TGP Europe Limited of the Isle of Man under Gambling Commission licence 38898. On 12 February 2025, the Commission announced that TGP would shut it after the Commission opened an investigation into a widely viewed social media video showing the Stake logo. TGP said it would stop taking sign-ups straight away and close the site by 11 March 2025. The Commission also wrote to Everton, then wearing Stake’s branding on the front of its shirts, about the risks of promoting unlicensed gambling. In May 2025, TGP Europe surrendered its licence rather than pay a £3.3 million penalty for weak checks on its white-label partners and anti-money laundering failings. Those failings belong to TGP, not Medium Rare, but they ended Stake’s licensed presence here.

Today Stake’s terms list the United Kingdom among more than 40 prohibited jurisdictions and treat any attempt to get round that as a breach of those terms. Its sponsorship pages still call it an Official Partner of Everton Football Club, a club whose fans in England Stake won’t accept as customers.

The wider family is small and useless to British players. Stake.us is an American sweepstakes casino run by Sweepsteaks Limited, a Cyprus company registered at the same Larnaca address as Stake’s payment agent MRS Tech. Primedice, the crypto dice site that links to Stake.com from its footer, names a different company, Slicemedia B.V. of Curaçao, and now has a banner on its homepage telling players that it’s closing and that they should withdraw their funds by 8 October and “continue your play over at Stake.com”.

Bonuses: no welcome offer, rewards built on turnover

Stake prices its promotions in US dollars, which I’ve converted to pounds at face value. There’s no welcome offer of any kind. Instead, it runs standing competitions: Daily Races sharing £100,000, a Weekly Raffle of £75,000, Stake vs Eddie at £50,000, Conquer the Casino at £75,000, double VIP progress on its Only on Stake games, poker jackpots up to £1 million and a rolling set of sports odds boosts, including a 90th Minute Payout on football and a refund when an NFL team leading by ten after three quarters goes on to lose.

The VIP club is where Stake puts its money, and every rung is priced in wagering. Bronze starts at £10,000 wagered, Silver at £50,000, Gold at £100,000, and Platinum at £250,000, then rises to Diamond at £25 million, with rakeback, weekly and monthly bonuses, level-up payments, reloads, and, near the top, a personal VIP host. The VIP page promises bonuses “without any strings attached”, although the terms let Stake cancel any bonus “at its sole discretion”. The casino page’s guide to the club stops at Platinum IV, several ranks short of the top of the scale, which suggests that nobody’s proofreading the site.

Payments: crypto first, with a fee at every exit

Crypto is the main route in: Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, EOS, Dogecoin, Litecoin, Solana, Tron and more, 21 coins on the help centre’s withdrawal list, from XRP and USD Coin to Shiba Inu and the TRUMP coin. Players without crypto are directed to MoonPay, Swapped.com, Mesh, and Swap Connect to buy some, and local currency deposits go through third-party services, with guides for Canadian dollars, Turkish lira, Vietnamese dong, Indian rupees, Chilean pesos, Argentine pesos, and Mexican pesos. Argentina and Mexico are both on Stake’s prohibited list, so it has payment guides for countries its terms bar.

Crypto withdrawals are processed straight away with no maximum, but each coin has a minimum and a fixed network fee: USDT needs at least 2.5 to withdraw and costs 1 in fees, for example. Bank transfers take up to three business days. Players must wager every deposit in full before they can withdraw. Stake can charge a withdrawal fee at its discretion, and it can hold withdrawals during an investigation without saying why. The terms say players’ money sits in separate customer accounts and wallets.

Support and complaints: management has the last word

Support runs around the clock through live chat for logged-in players and support@stake.com, backed by a help centre in 17 languages and a community forum. The Stake Smart tools cover loss, wager and deposit limits, cooling-off periods, breaks in play and self-exclusion, and the footer links Gambling Therapy for outside help. Complaints are a different matter. Clause 13.1 says management’s decision on any dispute “is final and shall not be open to review or appeal”, and the only route beyond support@stake.com is the courts of Curaçao. The Curaçao Gaming Authority that licenses Stake doesn’t appear anywhere in its complaints process.

Stake Casino’s reputation

Stake’s Trustpilot profile, claimed since June 2020, holds 11,994 reviews averaging 3.9. Stake invites customers to review it and replies to 99% of negative reviews, usually within 48 hours. The record splits sharply: 64% five-star, praising its interface, fast crypto transactions and VIP rakeback, against 23% one-star, 2,718 reviews in all. The newest complaints include an Indian rupee withdrawal held for more than two weeks in October 2026, a player convinced the Stake Originals are rigged, and gripes about the streamers who promote the site and the moderators who run its chat.

A balanced view

Points in its favour

  • It names its operator, and the Curaçao Gaming Authority certificate checks out.
  • Thousands of games, including provably fair in-house titles.
  • Crypto withdrawals processed straight away, with no maximum.
  • A full set of play limits and self-exclusion.

Points against

  • Its terms let it change any slot’s house edge without notice.
  • No welcome offer, and VIP rewards tied to heavy wagering.
  • Management’s ruling on disputes is final, with no outside referee.
  • Its own pages contradict each other on games, VIP tiers and currencies.

My Stake Casino sister sites verdict: polished, powerful and answerable only to itself

Stake is a better-run business than most of the offshore casinos I review for this site: it puts its name on the door, its licence checks out, and its crypto cashier is quick. That’s exactly why the downsides are so grating. A company this size could offer an independent referee, fixed slot returns and copy that agrees with itself, and it chooses not to. What you get is a slick casino whose rules leave the final say with Stake on almost everything that matters once money is at stake (pun intended).

For British players, the question is already settled: Stake doesn’t accept the UK, and neither do its sister sites. If its sportsbook and casino are what caught your eye, BetUK is the closest licensed match, 888 Casino covers poker as well, Virgin Games suits slots-only players and Genting Casino is the pick for live tables streamed from real casinos.

Stake Casino sister sites FAQ: your questions answered

What are Stake’s sister sites?

Stake.us, the US-only sweepstakes version of Stake operated by Cyprus-based Sweepsteaks Limited, and Primedice, a crypto dice site that is closing and sending its players to Stake.com. Neither is open to UK players.

Who owns Stake?

Medium Rare N.V., a Curaçao company licensed by the Curaçao Gaming Authority under licence OGL/2024/1451/0918.

Can I play at Stake from the UK?

No. Its terms prohibit UK players, and its British site, stake.uk.com, closed in March 2025.

Why did Stake leave the UK?

Its UK site was a white label run by TGP Europe, which shut it after the Gambling Commission investigated a social media video carrying the Stake logo. TGP later gave up its own licence rather than pay a £3.3 million penalty.

Does Stake have a welcome bonus?

No. Stake relies on races, raffles, odds boosts and a VIP club that starts after £10,000 of wagering.
