Five William Hill sister sites under one owner

None of the William Hill sister sites shares its licence, so the link is the owner rather than the paperwork. For each one, I’ve looked at what it does that William Hill doesn’t, and what carries across if you hold accounts at both.

william hill sister sites banner
888 sport logo

888sport

  • The other bookmaker: It’s the group’s second sportsbook, run by 888 UK Limited rather than William Hill’s company.
  • Online only: There are no high street shops behind it, unlike William Hill.
  • A matching welcome offer: Its standard sports offer is also £30 in free bets for a £10 bet.
  • Linked self-exclusion: A new self-exclusion at William Hill extends to your 888sport account, but deposit limits don’t.
  • Best for: William Hill bettors who’d like a second big-name sportsbook from the same group.
888 casino logo

888casino

  • An online pioneer: 888 Casino started in 1997, as one of the first online casinos.
  • Casino first: Slots, live dealers, and table games are the whole point, whereas William Hill puts sport first.
  • A bigger welcome offer: Its main offer is a 100% deposit match up to £100, against William Hill Vegas’s 200 spins.
  • Product blocks stay put: Blocking casino games at William Hill doesn’t block them here, so you’d need to ask 888 Casino separately.
  • Best for: William Hill Vegas players who want a casino-only brand.
888 poker logo

888poker

  • The card room: It’s the group’s poker brand, on 888 UK Limited’s licence.
  • Two poker brands in one group: William Hill has a Poker tab and its own poker app too, so you can choose which name you play under.
  • Self-exclusion included: 888poker is on the list of brands a new self-exclusion now covers.
  • The brand next door: 888 UK Limited works from the same Europort address in Gibraltar as William Hill’s company.
  • Best for: Poker players who’d rather play under the 888 name.
777 casino logo

777 Casino

  • Retro Vegas: 777 calls itself “The #1 Retro Vegas Casino Experience”, with a short menu of slots, roulette, blackjack, live casino, and jackpots.
  • A small welcome offer: New players get 100% up to £20 on a first deposit of £10 or more, with 10x wagering over five days and winnings capped at £20.
  • Try before you deposit: A FreePlay mode lets you test games without staking money.
  • The family’s FAQ: Its site hosts the “William Hill & 888” safer gambling FAQ that explains how the brands link up.
  • Best for: Casual casino players who don’t need sport at all.
mr green logo

Mr Green

  • Someone else’s licence: Its UK site is run by Blue Rock Managed Services Limited, under that company’s UK licence, 67740.
  • Bingo and Slingo: Its menu covers slots, jackpots, live casino, bingo, casino, and Slingo, but no sport.
  • Weekly spins: Regulars get 20 free spins for every £75 staked on selected slots, up to 200 a week.
  • Worth checking: The group’s FAQ still lists Mr Green in the shared self-exclusion, written before its UK site changed hands, so confirm with Mr Green if you’re relying on it.
  • Best for: Casino and bingo players who want a calmer site than a bookmaker’s.

How I researched this William Hill review

Below are the sources behind my William Hill review, and my About Us page sets out the principles I follow for every casino and bookmaker I write about.

Rob Hill
Research method
I traced how William Hill and its sister sites are licensed and owned, read William Hill’s help centre and promotion terms alongside the group’s shared safer gambling rules, and compared each sister site’s offer and menu with William Hill’s.

Who owns William Hill?

UKGC Licensed, WHG (International) Limited (39225), click to verify

William Hill is run by WHG (International) Limited from Europort in Gibraltar, under UK Gambling Commission licence 39225, which covers betting, casino, bingo, and pool betting. The 888 Group bought William Hill’s international business, including Mr Green, on 1 July 2022, and the enlarged company is now called Evoke plc. Evoke’s own brand page lists William Hill, 888casino, 888sport, 888poker, Mr Green, and Winner, and says William Hill still has more than 1,000 high street shops.

The licences are split three ways. WHG (International) Limited holds williamhill.com. 888 UK Limited, licence 39028, from the same Europort address, holds 888casino, 888sport, 888poker, and 777.com. Mr Green’s UK site is listed as a white label under a third company, Blue Rock Managed Services Limited, licence 67740.

Ownership may change again soon. Evoke agreed an all-share takeover by Bally’s Intralot in June 2026, worth around £243 million, and shareholders approved it on 17 August. It still needs court approval, which is expected in late 2026 or early 2027, so for now Evoke remains the owner.

What carries across the group, and what doesn’t

This is the practical side of being sister sites. Since 20 April 2023, a new self-exclusion at 888casino, 888poker, 888sport, 777, William Hill, or Mr Green is extended to any accounts the group can match to you at the others, and it runs to whichever end date is furthest away. Deposit limits and product blocks don’t carry across, though. A casino block at William Hill does nothing at 888casino, and a deposit limit at 888 only applies to that account, so you’d need to set them up on each site.

The group hasn’t always got the matching right. On 7 August 2025, the Gambling Commission fined WHG (International) Limited £82,687 and 888 UK Limited £33,075, both for failing to identify customers who held accounts with another company in the group. Both had reported the problem themselves. 888 UK Limited was fined another £86,843 in November 2025 over a self-exclusion failure. If you self-exclude, it’s worth also signing up to GAMSTOP, which covers every licensed British site.

Sport first, with a big casino wing

William Hill is a sportsbook before anything else, and its top menu starts with Sports before moving on to Vegas, Live Casino, Bingo, Poker, and Promotions, with the same account covering all of them. Below the welcome banner, a “More from William Hill” row points to Jackpot Drop, Exclusive Slots, Sports, and Live Casino. William Hill Vegas has a menu of its own, from Slots, Roulette, and Blackjack to Arcade, Slingo, and Jackpots.

The shops still matter too. The William Hill PLUS card links a shop account with the online one, so you can deposit from £1 and take cash out over the counter. The apps are made by the same company, and the main one, William Hill Sports Betting, scores 4.7 from around 200,000 ratings on Apple’s App Store, with separate Vegas and Poker apps alongside it.

Two welcome offers, each in more than one version

The standard sports offer is £30 in free bets for new customers who use code R30, deposit at least £10, and place a £10 cash bet at odds of 1/2 or bigger, with virtual sports excluded. You get three £10 free bets once the bet settles, each to be used in full within seven days, and the free bet stake isn’t returned. Deposits by PayPal, Apple Pay, Skrill, Neteller, Paysafe, Neosurf, ecoPayz, Kalibra/Postpay, or the William Hill PLUS card don’t count. The App Store listing advertises a different version, £40 in Free Bet Builders with code FB40, so check which one your sign-up page shows.

William Hill Vegas offers 200 spins on Big Bass Splash, worth 10p each, when you deposit £10 and stake £10 on that slot, but there are two sets of terms. With code WHV200, winnings from the spins carry 10x wagering, the most UK rules allow, within 72 hours. With code BBS200, the winnings go straight to your main balance with no wagering. Both cap what you can take out at £30, and both exclude Apple Pay, PayPal, and Paysafe deposits. Running several versions of the same welcome offer with different codes and terms is confusing, and you’ll only find out which one you’ve got from the page you sign up through.

Paying in, getting paid, and getting help

William Hill’s payments page is one of the most complete I’ve seen. Debit cards take deposits and withdrawals from £5, with Visa Direct withdrawals arriving in as little as four hours and other cards in one to three working days. Pay By Bank starts at £5 and pays out within a working day, and Apple Pay also starts at £5. PayPal takes £10 in and out, and Skrill and Neteller take £10 deposits and £5 withdrawals, all paid within one working day. Paysafecard deposits start at £10, with withdrawals of £25 or more sent by bank transfer, which takes three to five working days. Bank transfer is a withdrawal-only method from £25. William Hill doesn’t charge its own fees, and if you’ve used more than one method, it usually pays you back to the one you’ve deposited most through.

Support is through 24/7 messaging, reached from the Help section in the site’s footer. There’s no phone number for online accounts, and the 0117 463 6054 number you might find is for shop customers only. If the first answer doesn’t settle a complaint, you can email the Second Opinion team at second_opinion@willhill.com, which acknowledges within 24 hours and aims to resolve things within eight weeks. After that, William Hill is signed up to IBAS for free independent adjudication.

William Hill’s reputation

William Hill’s reputation depends on where you look. The sports app scores 4.7 on the App Store from around 200,000 ratings, so the product itself clearly works for a lot of people. Trustpilot is another story: 1.2 from about 7,400 reviews, with every one of the 40 most recent at one star and no replies from the company. The common complaints are stake restrictions, sometimes down to £1 bets, for customers who say they weren’t even in profit, along with long verification checks and slow customer service. Stake limits are legal and every big bookmaker uses them, but the sheer number of complaints, and the silence in response, says something about how William Hill handles unhappy customers.

What I like, and what I don’t

What I like

  • One self-exclusion that reaches all the William Hill sister sites.
  • Visa Direct withdrawals in as little as four hours.
  • A clear payments page with minimums and times for every method.
  • A highly rated sports app.

What I don’t

  • A Trustpilot score of 1.2, with no replies from the company.
  • Welcome offers in several versions, with different codes and terms.
  • Deposit limits and product blocks that don’t carry across the group.
  • No phone line for online customers.

My William Hill sister sites verdict: a strong product, a poor relationship with customers

On the practical side, William Hill holds up well. Payments are quick and clearly explained, support is there around the clock, and the app is one of the best rated in the country. Its family is real too, not just a line in a company report, as the group’s shared self-exclusion shows. What drags it down is how it treats the people who complain. A Trustpilot score that low, full of stake-limit grievances and left without replies, is hard to ignore, and the multiple versions of its welcome offers don’t make life any easier for new customers.

If you want a second sportsbook in the same group, 888sport is the obvious choice. For casino, 888casino has the bigger welcome offer and 777 lets you try games for free first, while Mr Green is the one for bingo. Just remember that if you self-exclude at any of them, the others should follow, but your deposit limits won’t.

William Hill FAQ

What are William Hill’s sister sites?

888sport, 888casino, 888poker, 777, and Mr Green. Evoke plc owns all of them, though they’re run under different UK licences from William Hill’s.

Who owns William Hill?

Evoke plc, the group formerly called 888 Holdings, which bought William Hill’s international business in July 2022. A takeover of Evoke by Bally’s Intralot has been approved by shareholders but isn’t complete yet.

Is 888 part of William Hill?

They’re sister companies rather than one business. 888 UK Limited and WHG (International) Limited are both owned by Evoke and hold separate UK licences.

If I self-exclude from William Hill, does it cover 888?

Yes, for self-exclusions made since 20 April 2023, which extend to any accounts the group can link to you at 888casino, 888poker, 888sport, 777, and Mr Green. Deposit limits and product blocks don’t carry over.

Does William Hill have a phone number?

Not for online accounts. Online support is by 24/7 messaging from the Help section, and the 0117 463 6054 number is for shop customers.

How many William Hill shops are there?

Evoke says William Hill has more than 1,000 high street shops, down from the 1,300 or so it had earlier in 2026.
