Important licensing note

BitStarz shows UK visitors a “Not available in your region” page and lists the United Kingdom among its restricted countries. As it has no UK Gambling Commission licence, players in Britain would have no UK safeguards, no GAMSTOP protection, and nobody in the UK to take a complaint. In other words, players in Britain shouldn’t play at BitStarz.

The BitStarz sister sites

Cashy is the one BitStarz sister site today, but I’ve also profiled three casinos that were alongside BitStarz under the Dama N.V. banner until recently, because they’re still BitStarz sister sites in spirit. None of these sites accepts players from the UK or the US, so the promotions are shown as players in Canada see them, in Canadian dollars or crypto.

cashy logo

Cashy

  • Relationship: Cashy is the only full BitStarz sister site. Its footer names Gareton B.V. as its operator, and it uses the same Curaçao licence number, OGL/2024/165/0185.
  • The no-nonsense one: Cashy has a handwritten logo with a dollar sign for the “s”, a navy-and-yellow site, and the slogan “Zero BS. Just Play.”
  • Cash, not bonuses: Instead of a matched deposit package, new players get 25% cashback on their first 24 hours, paid as cash with no wagering, whereas BitStarz bonuses carry 40x wagering.
  • The same cashier: Its deposit and withdrawal methods and limits match BitStarz’s, from Interac and MiFinity to Bitcoin and Ripple.
  • Fast payout boasts: The homepage advertises a four-minute payout speed, and the site says it publishes its average monthly payout times so players can check them.
  • A long loyalty ladder: The Cashy VIP Club has 100 levels and promises more than $200,000 in rewards, paid as cash without wagering.
  • Best for: Players who’d rather have cash rewards than bonuses with wagering at a BitStarz sister site.
7bit casino logo

7Bit Casino

  • Relationship: 7Bit Casino was a Dama N.V. casino alongside BitStarz, but it isn’t a sister site now. Its footer names Kika Technology B.V. as its current operator under a different Curaçao licence, OGL/2023/147/0081.
  • The retro one: Its blue-and-red neon logo looks like an old arcade sign, set against a dark navy site.
  • A bigger welcome package: New players can get 325% up to CA$10,800 plus 250 free spins on their first deposits, compared with CA$2,000 and 180 spins at BitStarz.
  • Weekly cashback: Regular players get up to 20% back each week, and a Wheel of Fortune pays free spins or cash.
  • Spins for following: Joining its Telegram channel is worth 99 free spins.
  • Crypto at heart: Like BitStarz, it sells itself first as a Bitcoin casino.
  • Best for: Players chasing the biggest possible welcome package from a former BitStarz sister site.
playamo logo

Playamo

  • Relationship: Playamo was another Dama N.V. casino back in the day, and it now names Kika Technology B.V. as its operator, under the same licence as 7Bit Casino.
  • The flashy one: The homepage features a frog in sunglasses posing by a red Ferrari, under a logo with a red die in the middle.
  • A bigger welcome bonus: Its welcome package is worth up to CA$6,500 plus 150 free spins, more than three times BitStarz’s in cash terms.
  • VIP perks: Its VIP rewards include free spins, real money, and a Ferrari 488 GTB.
  • More things to do: There are missions, match predictions, a bonus store, and a Lucky Spin with prizes of up to CA$400,000.
  • Bingo as well: Its lobby has a bingo section alongside the slots and live casino, which BitStarz doesn’t offer.
  • Best for: Players who like missions and a bonus store on top of their slots.
katsubet logo

KatsuBet

  • Relationship: KatsuBet was also run by Dama N.V. while BitStarz was, and its footer now names Kika Technology B.V., so it’s a former stablemate rather than a current sister site.
  • The East Asian one: A woman in a red dress holds dice and chips in front of pagodas on the homepage, and the logo has a green half-sun over the name.
  • A simple start: The first deposit bonus is 100% up to CA$400 plus 100 free spins, the same cap as BitStarz’s first deposit but with 80 fewer spins.
  • A high roller option: Deposit CA$400 or more and you can take a 50% bonus up to CA$4,500 instead.
  • Spins for crypto: Crypto depositors can claim a separate offer of 75 free spins.
  • App available: KatsuBet offers a casino app to download for any device, and promotes it at the top of every page.
  • Best for: High rollers who’d rather take one big deposit bonus than a four-step package.

If the biggest bonus matters most

7Bit Casino offers more than five times BitStarz’s welcome package in Canadian dollars.

If you like extra things to do

Playamo has missions, predictions, and a bonus store.

If you deposit big straight out of the gate

KatsuBet has a high roller bonus worth up to CA$4,500.

Is BitStarz still a Dama N.V. casino?

No, and it hasn’t been since 2025. BitStarz has changed hands more than once since it opened in 2014. Archived copies of its website show SoftSwiss N.V. named as the operator in 2016, then Direx N.V. in 2018 and 2019. From early 2021, the terms named Dama N.V., at first under licence 8048/JAZ2020-013 and later under Curaçao Gaming Authority licence OGL/2023/174/0082. The terms still named Dama N.V. (registration 152125, Scharlooweg 39, Willemstad) in May 2025, but by August 2025 they named Gareton B.V. instead.

Today, clause 1.2 of the terms says BitStarz is managed by Gareton B.V., registration number 160656, at Landhuis Zuikertuin, Zuikertuintjeweg, Willemstad. The seal in the casino’s footer opens a certificate from the Curaçao Gaming Authority for bitstarz.com under licence OGL/2024/165/0185, granted on 8 July 2024 and listed as active, and the regulator’s licence list for October 2026 shows Gareton B.V. under the same number. The homepage footer shows the licence number but not the company name, so you have to open the terms or the FAQ to find out who you’re dealing with. For a site whose homepage calls it the “World’s Most Trusted Casino”, I’d expect the operator’s name up front.

Gareton B.V. runs one other casino, Cashy, under the same licence and from the same address, and the affiliate site linked from the BitStarz footer, Starz Partners, describes itself as the “BitStarz & Cashy Casino Affiliate Program”. The old Dama family has gone its separate ways. 7Bit Casino, Playamo, and KatsuBet all ran under Dama N.V. in 2024, but their footers now name Kika Technology B.V. (company 164980) under licence OGL/2023/147/0081. Dama N.V. still holds its licence, but if a list tells you BitStarz is a Dama casino with dozens of sister sites, it’s out of date.

Five Bitcoin, 180 spins, and 40x wagering

The headline welcome bonus is “5 BTC + 180 Free Spins”, and in Canadian dollars the package is worth up to CA$2,000. It’s spread over four deposits: 100% up to CA$400 or 1 BTC with the 180 free spins on the first, 50% up to CA$400 or 1 BTC on the second, 50% up to CA$800 or 2 BTC on the third, and 100% up to CA$400 or 1 BTC on the fourth. The sums add up, which is more than I can say for some casinos based in this part of the world. You need a CA$20 deposit for the bonus, or CA$40 for the bonus and the spins, which arrive 20 at a time over nine days.

bitstarz welcome package of ca$2,000 or 5 btc plus 180 free spins over four deposits
The BitStarz welcome package for players in Canada, as displayed on 27th October 2026.

The catches are in the terms. Bonuses and free spin winnings require 40x wagering; the maximum bet with a bonus active is €5 (including bonus buys); and table, live, and instant-win games count for just 5%. Welcome package bonuses last just seven days, and any other bonus expires after 24 hours. Your deposit is locked to the bonus, so if you cancel it to withdraw early, you lose the bonus and everything you’ve won with it. New players also get 20 free spins just for signing up and verifying their email, but winnings from those are capped at €100 (CA$150) and can’t be withdrawn until you’ve made a deposit.

After the welcome package, there’s a 50% Monday Reload and Wednesday Free Spins once you’ve made four deposits, weekly Slot Wars and Table Wars tournaments with €5,000 plus 5,000 free spins and €10,000 in prizes, and a Level Up Adventure that runs every two months, with 41 levels for each player and no opt-in. Bonuz Mania (their spelling, not mine) gives you prize spins on deposits of CA$71 or more, though it isn’t always available. VIPs get weekly cashback with no limits on bets or cash-outs, faster withdrawals, and a dedicated support address, VIP@bitstarz.com.

A huge cashier, but bank transfers aren’t instant

BitStarz takes euros, US, Canadian, Australian, and New Zealand dollars, Japanese yen, and Norwegian krone, as well as Bitcoin, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Ripple, Dogecoin, Cardano, Binance Coin, Tron, Tether, Solana, and USD Coin. From Canada, you can deposit by Interac, Neosurf, MiFinity, credit card, MuchBetter, or Apple Pay (from CA$20, up to CA$4,000, or CA$6,000 by Neosurf and CA$1,500 by Apple Pay), or with any of those coins, including Bitcoin’s Lightning Network. Every deposit is listed as free and instant.

Withdrawals start at CA$50, go up to CA$10,000 per transaction by MiFinity, MuchBetter, Interac, or bank transfer, and up to CA$50,000 in crypto, and there are no fees. The terms say BitStarz tries to pay within an hour, with a “10-minute average”, although large wins are checked with the game provider first, and you have to play your deposit through once before withdrawing. Every method on the payments page, bank transfer included, says “Instantly”, but the terms say bank transfer payouts are sent in euros and are “processed within three to ten (3 to 10) banking days”. One of those is wrong, and I’d bet it’s the “instant” promise. Withdrawals go back to the method you deposited with, and card deposits are refunded up to the amount you put in, with anything above that paid another way.

Originals, Megaways, and a frog in sunglasses

The homepage of BitStarz is deep purple, with an Egyptian queen, Zeus, and a frog in sunglasses surrounded by gold coins and red stars, under the slogans “World’s Most Trusted Casino” and “Join 10+ Million Players”. A strip of the biggest wins from the last 24 hours runs underneath.

The BitStarz homepage for players in Canada, as displayed on 27th October 2026.

BitStarz stands out for its Originals: 18 house games, including Plinko, Crash, Mines, Limbo, Dice, Tower, Coin Flip, and Croc Snap, plus a provably fair section. The top games list mixes Buffalo King Megaways, Sugar Rush 1000, Big Bass Splash, Sweet Bonanza 1000, Wanted Dead or a Wild, Elvis Frog in Vegas, and Gemhalla, from studios such as Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw, BGaming, Booming Games, Platipus, Betsoft, and Games Global, and there’s even a slot named after the casino, BitStarz Billion. There are also sections for live casino, game shows, jackpots, Megaways, Hold & Win, bonus buys, and Bitcoin games, so there’s plenty to choose from.

Support, and where complaints end up

Help comes through live chat or by email to support@bitstarz.com, and VIPs have their own address, VIP@bitstarz.com. There’s no customer support phone number, though the terms say BitStarz may phone you as part of its checks. Complaints go to support first and are escalated internally if they can’t be solved straight away. The terms say you can then go to “the gambling authority or … a designated gambling dispute resolution service”, but they don’t name one, and any legal dispute is settled by arbitration in Curaçao. The Complaints page itself sends you to a review website’s complaints service rather than an independent dispute body, which isn’t the same thing.

BitStarz Casino’s record with players

BitStarz claimed its Trustpilot profile in November 2019 and has 5,443 reviews there, scoring 4.3, with 77% of them five-star. It replies to almost every negative review, usually within a week. The happy reviews come from players who’ve stuck with it for years, praising regular payouts and support staff who sort things out in a minute or two.

About 15% of all reviews are one-star, and the same complaints keep coming up. Some players say their account was frozen after a deposit because BitStarz decided they had a second account. Others say winnings disappeared after a big win, and a player from a restricted country says they were allowed to deposit and only told they couldn’t play when they tried to withdraw, which matches the terms’ warning that withdrawals can’t be guaranteed if you break the restricted countries rules. One player also complained about verification emails after they’d abandoned the sign-up form. None of that negates its long track record of paying out, but it shows how much depends on following the rules to the letter.

A balanced view

Points in its favour

  • More than a decade of trading and a long run of positive reviews.
  • A Curaçao licence certificate that checks out with the regulator.
  • A big choice of currencies and no withdrawal fees.
  • Eighteen house games and a provably fair section.

Points against

  • A footer on the homepage that doesn’t name the company running the site.
  • 40x wagering and a €5 maximum bet on bonuses.
  • Bank transfers listed as instant on one page and 3 to 10 days in the terms.
  • No named independent dispute service.

My BitStarz sister sites verdict: a familiar casino with a new owner

BitStarz has outlasted most crypto casinos, and its long record of paying players counts for a lot. What has changed is who you’re dealing with, and the site doesn’t make that obvious. A casino that sells itself on trust should name its operator on the homepage and keep its pages consistent, and BitStarz falls a little short on both. Cashy is the only casino that shares its owner now, and it’s taken the opposite approach to bonuses, while 7Bit Casino, Playamo, and KatsuBet are old friends that now belong to someone else.

For players in Britain, none of this matters, as BitStarz blocks UK visitors and its terms list the UK as restricted. If you’re in the UK and the free spins appeal, Sky Vegas, run by Bonne Terre Gaming Limited under UK Gambling Commission account 65519, gives new players 250 free spins at 10p each after a £10 deposit and £10 of play.

BitStarz FAQ

Who owns BitStarz?

Gareton B.V., a Curaçao company, has run BitStarz since mid-2025. Before that, it was Dama N.V.

Is BitStarz a Dama N.V. casino?

Not any more. Its terms named Dama N.V. until at least May 2025, but they’ve named Gareton B.V. since August 2025.

Can I play at BitStarz from the UK?

No. UK visitors get a page saying it isn’t available in their region, and the United Kingdom is on the restricted countries list in its terms.

Is BitStarz licensed?

Yes, by the Curaçao Gaming Authority under licence OGL/2024/165/0185, but it doesn’t have a UK Gambling Commission licence.

What are the BitStarz sister sites?

Cashy is the only sister site with the same operator. 7Bit Casino, Playamo, and KatsuBet used to share Dama N.V. with BitStarz but now name Kika Technology B.V.
