The Bar One Racing sister sites

With no true Bar One Racing sister sites to show you, I’ve picked four UK-licensed brands that run on the same Playtech website platform, so they’ll feel familiar to anyone who already bets with BAR 1 Betting, even though each one has a different owner.

10bet logo

10bet

  • Relationship: 10bet is a Bar One Racing alternative, not a sister site. It’s run by Blue Star Planet Limited of Malta under UK Gambling Commission account 43173.
  • The near twin: It uses exactly the same Playtech software and layout as BAR 1 Betting, so you’ll know your way around from the first click.
  • A sports welcome bonus: New UK customers can take 100% up to £50 on their first deposit, with 10x wagering, whereas BAR 1 Betting’s only UK welcome offer is for its casino.
  • Familiar extras: Acca boosts of up to 100% and an early payout when your team goes two goals up, both of which BAR 1 Betting offers too, so you don’t lose them by switching.
  • Grey and green: The logo is a big grey “10” with “BET” stacked inside the zero, on a light grey background.
  • Best for: Football punters who want a site that looks just like BAR 1 Betting, plus a sports welcome bonus.
les ambassadeurs online logo

Les Ambassadeurs Online

  • Relationship: This is a Bar One Racing alternative, not a sister site, run by Les Ambassadeurs Online Limited under UK Gambling Commission account 57687.
  • A casino club behind it: Like BAR 1 Betting with its shops, it has bricks-and-mortar too, as the online arm of the Les Ambassadeurs Casino Club in Mayfair, which has been open since 1941.
  • Live from the club: Its “Live from Les A” roulette and baccarat tables are streamed live from the club in Mayfair.
  • Casino only: There’s no sportsbook here, whereas racing and sport are BAR 1 Betting’s main business.
  • Loyal players > new arrivals: The promotions page talks about loyalty points for free spins and Golden Chips, but doesn’t put a figure on its welcome bonus.
  • Best for: Players who’d rather sit at a live table than bet on the racing.
buzz bingo logo

Buzz Bingo

  • Relationship: Buzz Bingo is a Bar One Racing alternative, not a sister site, run by Buzz Bingo Digital Limited under UK Gambling Commission account 57594.
  • High street roots: It’s the online side of the Buzz Bingo clubs, much as BAR 1 Betting is the online side of Bar One’s Irish betting shops.
  • A welcome offer with a club voucher: New players who stake £10 on bingo within 14 days get a £40 bingo bonus, made up of £30 online with 4x wagering and a £10 voucher to spend in a club.
  • Slots too: Staking £10 on selected slots adds a £20 slots bonus with 10x wagering.
  • Bingo, not betting: There’s no sportsbook, but there’s a Club Slots row of games you’ll also find in the halls, and a Club Finder to locate your nearest one.
  • Best for: Bingo fans who like a site with bingo halls behind it.
the sun vegas logo

The Sun Vegas

  • Relationship: The Sun Vegas is a Bar One Racing alternative, not a sister site, run by Red Rock Managed Services Limited of Gibraltar under UK Gambling Commission account 67754.
  • The newspaper one: It features The Sun’s red masthead next to a gold spade in its logo, on a dark navy site.
  • A bigger casino bonus: A first deposit of £10 or more by debit card gets new players a matching bonus worth up to £100 and 100 free spins, compared with 30 free spins at BAR 1 Betting.
  • Tight deadlines: The bonus and the spin winnings each require 10x wagering within three days.
  • A much bigger lobby: It lists 2,290 games from 18 providers, compared with about 400 at BAR 1 Casino, though there’s no sportsbook.
  • Best for: Casino players who want a larger matched deposit welcome bonus than BAR 1 Betting offers.

How I wrote this Bar One Racing review

This is the groundwork for my Bar One Racing review. If you’d like to know how I review bookmakers and casinos in general, my About Us page explains it.

Research method
I evaluated BAR 1 Betting as a new UK customer would, checked which offers are open to UK players, and found the alternatives by matching its website software against every active UK-licensed gambling domain.

Buzz Bingo pairs its online rooms with a voucher to spend in its bingo clubs.

The family bookmaker behind Bar One Racing

UKGC Licensed, Bar-One Racing Limited (56516), click to verify

Bar-One Racing Limited is a family-run Irish bookmaker based in Dundalk. Its About page says Barney O’Hare founded it in 1992 with a single betting shop, and it has since grown into a chain of shops across Ireland alongside its website. In Ireland, it’s licensed by the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland, and in Britain it has held UK Gambling Commission account 56516 since 14 July 2020 for betting, adding a casino licence on 27 August 2025. There are no regulatory actions on the UK Gambling Commission register.

That licence covers one trading name and one website, baroneracing.com, which is why Bar One Racing has no sister sites. The website now carries the BAR 1 Betting name (and BAR 1 Casino for the casino side), and you can switch it into Irish as well as English. What it does share with other brands is its software: the site is built on Playtech’s website platform, the same one behind 10bet, Les Ambassadeurs Online, Buzz Bingo, and The Sun Vegas, and 10bet even uses the same design. That’s why I’ve picked those four as alternatives, but each one has a different owner and a separate licence.

An Irish welcome offer on the UK homepage

The first welcome offer you’re likely to see is “Bet €10 Get €50 in Free Bets & 20 Casino Free Spins” on the homepage. It’s priced in euros, and the small print says it’s for “Verified new IRE customers only”, so players in Britain can’t claim it. Showing it to a UK visitor at all is careless, and anyone in Britain who signs up expecting free bets will be disappointed.

bar 1 betting welcome offer for verified new irish customers only
The BAR 1 Betting homepage welcome offer, for Irish customers only, shown to me as a UK visitor on 27th October 2026.

The only welcome offer that UK players can claim is a casino one. New, verified UK customers who opt in, deposit with a Visa or Mastercard debit card, and wager £10 on selected slots get 30 free spins at 10p each on Better Wilds, Pyramid Linx, Diamond Rise, or Fire Blaze: Adventure Trail. Winnings carry a 1x wagering requirement, which is about as fair as it gets, but the spins last only 72 hours. I couldn’t see a sports welcome offer for UK customers on the promotions page.

Racing fans are better served by the everyday offers. Best Odds Guaranteed applies to win and each-way singles and multiples on UK and Irish racing placed online or on mobile, a dead heat for first place is paid out in full (up to £50 on win singles and £25 on the win part of each-way bets), and Weekly Rewards gives you a free bet and two 20% price boosts for placing five bets at evens or bigger by Sunday night. Watch the small print, though. The sportsbook page says Fairplay Payback gives you up to £100 in free bets if your horse refuses to race in UK and Irish racing, but the promotion itself is only open to residents of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, which rules out everyone in Britain. That’s a misleading way to advertise it.

BAR 1 Betting’s racing, sport, and casino

The site is red and white, with a bold red “1” in a circle as its logo. Its sportsbook page calls horse racing “the heart of BAR 1 Betting” and covers every UK and Irish meeting, alongside football, golf, tennis, cricket, GAA, greyhounds, rugby, boxing, darts, e-sports, and more. There’s also a lotto section with Irish Lotto, Daily Millions, and 49s draws, virtual sports, and an app for iPhone and Android.

bar 1 casino lobby with featured and top 10 slots
The BAR 1 Casino lobby, as displayed on 27th October 2026.

The casino is a smaller affair. Its provider filter lists just three studios, Playtech, Blueprint, and Slingo, with about 330 slots, 18 table games, and 52 live casino games. The featured games when I looked were Phoenix Heat, Bear Buzz, Mahjong Magic, King Richwin, Age of the Dogs, and Ultra Ace, and there are rows for Fire Blaze, Cash Collect, and Lucky Rush jackpot games. If you want a huge choice of slots, the casino won’t keep you interested for long, but it’s a reasonable sideline for a racing bookmaker.

Payments, support, and a reassurance that goes too far

You can deposit with a Visa or Mastercard debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or PayPal. Deposits should show up straight away. The help centre says there are no withdrawal fees, the minimum withdrawal is £5 to a debit card or £10 to PayPal, and the timings are up to three working days for cards after a 24-hour approval period, up to two business days for e-wallets, and three to seven business days for bank transfers. The terms give a slightly different range of three to five working days.

One help article asks “Is my money safe at BAR 1 Betting?” and answers “Absolutely!”. The terms are more careful. They say customer money is kept in a separate account with Allied Irish Bank, but that this “does not protect customer funds in the event of insolvency”, which the Gambling Commission rates as “not protected”. The help article should say the same thing.

Support is available from 8:30am to 12:30am every day by live chat, by email at help@baroneracing.com, or by phone on 020 3989 8687 from the UK. Complaints go through an online form, with an acknowledgement promised within 24 hours, and if you’re still unhappy, you can take it to IBAS, the Independent Betting Adjudication Service, for free. The footer links to GAMSTOP and GamCare, but it also still tells you to visit Gambleaware.org for help, even though GambleAware closed in March 2026. Its Trustpilot profile is short, with 32 reviews and a score of 2.1, and most of the complaints there are about stakes being restricted after a win.

What I like, and what I don’t

What I like

  • A long-standing Irish bookmaker with real shops and a website.
  • Best Odds Guaranteed and full payouts on dead heats for UK and Irish racing.
  • Phone support until after midnight, seven days a week.
  • Free withdrawals, low minimums, and a free route to IBAS.

What I don’t

  • An Irish-only welcome offer on the homepage visitors from the UK land on.
  • No sports welcome offer for UK customers.
  • A small casino with just three game studios supplying it.
  • A help article that oversells how safe your balance is.

My Bar One Racing sister sites verdict: a proper racing bookie, built for Ireland first

I like Bar One Racing more than I probably should. It’s a proper family bookmaker with more than 30 years’ experience, and its racing offers and long support hours are what you’d expect from a firm that started in a betting shop. The trouble for UK punters is that the site is built for Irish customers first. The headline welcome offer isn’t for you, the best racing refund is closed to anyone in Britain, and what’s left for a new UK customer is 30 free casino spins.

If you bet mainly on UK and Irish racing, BAR 1 Betting is worth having as a second account for its Best Odds Guaranteed and dead heat payouts. If you’d rather start with a proper welcome offer on the same platform, 10bet is the closest match of the Bar One Racing alternatives, and Les Ambassadeurs Online and The Sun Vegas are the better picks for casino fans.
